The leaves are changing and we recently had our first real thunderstorm of the season, so in my book, fall is officially here! In our house we really love the fall; the smell of the heater, hot tea, delicious soups, and bundling up to go watch a good storm. It doesn't get any better.
We had a busy summer. It wasn't all easy, sadly we experienced some losses of people close to us. But it wasn't all bad either. We got to attend some really sweet, beautiful weddings, had some great days at the river and park with friends, watched little Miss Elliott go from just starting to toddle around to being a full-on toddler- well balanced, running all over, climbing everything, and hugging her friends. Lots of hugging. The hugging isn't always so well balanced...
A dear friend of mine, and talented photographer, did a beautiful photo shoot of some really cute kids in Little Iris clothes, and I am looking forward to sharing the pictures she captured, so keep your eyes out for that.
But for now, I just wanted to check in and let you know that I have some new designs for fall/winter 2016. They pair well with my existing designs and they all layer well. Cozy, and cute, and good for layering. I'm not sure when I will be listing them on the site, so far I have only made them for the Elliott-Test (she approves) but I wanted to give you a sneak peek!
Finally, I wanted to let you know that I will be vending at the Nevada City Craft Fair on December 11! I had a great time at the Nevada City Craft Fair in the spring, and I am so excited to be doing the winter fair. I'll be sewing like a maniac to get my new designs ready for that, but will also be making time to share a few things on the blog!
This sweet little overall dress is made of a soft knit fabric that looks like denim, so you get that classic overall look, but it's comfortable enough to nap in! The overall dress is cute on its own during the summer, and it layers well over leggings, onesies, etc. during the colder months.
These pants are made from a woven cotton with a small amount of lycra, which provides a little bit of stretch, plus they have elastic in the back of the waistband, and elastic in the straps, to allow for easy movement. Classic old-man details like front pleats and brown leather buttons make these a great option whether you're attending a more formal event, or just going to run around at the park.
This 100% cotton thermal hoodie is a great toss-in-the-diaper-bag staple. It layers easily over long sleeve shirts, and under warm coats. The snap-front makes it comfortable in car seats, and for naps, and allows you to just fasten a snap or two if you want it to hang open but not fall off! The light brown is versatile and equally cute on boys and girls. It will also be available in turquoise and light gray.
